Emmi Salonen, Director
Emmi Salonen, a native of Finland, studied graphic design in University of Brighton. After graduating in 2001 she moved to Italy to work at Fabrica, Benetton’s controversial but prestigious studio for young designers. Emmi went on to earn more professional stripes back in London. In 2005 she set up her own award winning practice in London. Emmi's work is widely published internationally in design books and journals, including IDEA, Creative Review, Grafik, Print and Novum. As well as designing Emmi is a sessional tutor at Ravensbourne University and lectures regularly nationwide. She is the author of the forthcoming book: ‘Common Interest: Documents’ published by Index Books.
Ramon Marin, Associate Creative Director
With over 10 years of experience, Ramon Marin’s impact on the design industry has been felt across the world including his native Barcelona, Venice and the Dominican Republic. Ramon has worked with clients like British Airways, Levi's, Benetton and Claridges, offering his services in the fields of branding, graphic communication and art direction. Ramon gives on-going art direction and design consultancy for Studio EMMI.
Henrietta Thompson, Writer & Curator
Henrietta Thompson works as an editorial consultant for Studio EMMI, is Design & Arts Editor at Wallpaper* and has considerable experience across every aspect of design publishing. Henrietta’s roles have included Deputy Editor and then Editor at Large at Blueprint, Technology Editor at Dazed & Confused, Editor at Winkreative and Editor at Phaidon. Henrietta writes regularly about architecture, design and technology for several publications, including the Guardian, High Life and Conde Nast Traveler. As a Curator her exhibitions include 100% Norway among others. Henrietta is author of Remake It, designed by Studio EMMI, published by Thames & Hudson.
Jere Salonen, Web Designer & Photographer
Jere Salonen creates world class user experiences, including CMS and Web 2.0. He has worked with creating newsletter systems for The Finnish Institute in London, programming for various clients as well as maintaining all and everything to do with even-slightly complicated technology at Studio EMMI. He has excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript. As a photographer, Jere's work has been commissioned and published internationally, including Quotation in Japan, Sandu Publishing in China, Helsingin Sanomat in Finland and The Prince's Foundation in the UK.
Junior Designer/Intern
We have a rotating position for interns and junior designers who are creative, self-motivated graphic design graduates. Aside from being capable designers with creative flair our juniors have the ability to inject new ideas and make things happen, and have a discerning eye for detail.
