Archipelago photos by Janne Gröning
CAA is an international art exhibition in the Turku archipelago, Finland. It will open during the summer 2011, as part of Turku European Capital of Culture 2011 programme.
The identity speaks of two themes: firstly about the central role of the sea and the islands. Secondly of the art entwining with its environment, connecting islands to each other and creating a conceptual chain of thoughts, a group of art works that become its own entity, its own archipelago of mind.
It reflects the exhibition that is innovative, visually rich and different. An extended gallery space where one can discover and see unexpected results. The pattern is created with white and black acrylic paint, with similar, unexpected results. Although the exhibition is unlikely to include any painted work, as it focuses on installations, the marks are a reference to the art world, as well as to the surrounding water.
